The Mercedes-Benz Cars Communications & Marketing unit (SC/X) is responsible for the global conception, implementation and steering of all communication activities and advertising strategies of Mercedes-Benz Cars. We creatively steer our brands across all customer touchpoints and efficiently optimize communication for our customers by means of data-driven and measurable activities. We do all that with the clear goal of creating and deepening our customers' enthusiasm and desire for the brand.

As part of the Digital Innovation & Data Factory team, you will be able to immerse yourself in a wide variety of data projects along the entire customer journey and have the chance to actively drive them forward. You will be part of the first central Data Factory in the Marketing & Communication unit and thus make a valuable and sustainable contribution to the digitization of the division and actively shape its cultural change. Agile working methods in a cross-functional team set-up offer the perfect working environment to drive the development of analytical products and use cases. In doing so, we pursue a clear vision: Through excellent in-house support for data projects, we will contribute to a desirable and data-driven brand presence.
Your tasks will include:
Actively participate and support in the implementation of Agentic AI and Generative AI projects in area of communication & marketing for Mercedes-Benz Cars, using methods from statistics, data science, and business intelligence for data analysis, evaluation, and visualization – from ideation to operationalization
Collaborate with the team to design, develop, and implement agentic AI systems (e.g., autonomous AI agents, RAG pipelines, workflow orchestration)
Develop and evaluate algorithms for traditional ML, advanced neural networks, and Generative AI applications to solve real-world business challenges
Assist in the creation and implementation of AI-driven marketing and communication tools, including intelligent assistants, automated campaign optimization, and content generation
Conduct experiments and benchmarks to assess the performance of different AI/GenAI architectures (LLMs, diffusion models, multimodal systems)
Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in Agentic AI, LLM orchestration, and Generative AI research, contributing insights and recommendations to the team
Support the development of AI prototypes, POCs, and demos to showcase the business value of agentic and generative approaches
Participate in team discussions, brainstorming sessions, and cross-functional knowledge-sharing activities

Please note that this is a mandatory or combined (mandatory and voluntary) internship. Therefore, the internship must be fully or at least partially included in the study regulations. The duration of the internship should be six months (May 2026 to October 2026, depending on the exact beginning date).

Currently enrolled in studies of Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Business Informatics, Mathematics, or related fields with a strong focus on machine learning, statistics, or econometrics.
Hands-on experience in Data Science, Reinforcement Learning, AI/ML, or data-driven projects is a strong plus.
Knowledge and practical understanding of Generative AI frameworks (HuggingFace, LangChain, RAG pipelines, LangGraph, or equivalent) and their application in real-world scenarios.
Familiarity with Agentic AI concepts (autonomous agents, multi-agent collaboration, LLM tool use, memory/long-context reasoning).
Understanding of vector databases (e.g., FAISS, Pinecone) and retrieval-based architectures.
Knowledge about Google Agent Development Toolkit (ADK) or Google Cloud is a strong plus
Business proficiency English language skills, German as a plus
