Mid-Level Systems Administrator/Engineer Location:

Remote (candidates are required to currently reside within the continental United States) Employment Type:

W2 Contract. We can't do C2C arrangements. Candidates are required to be legally authorized to work in the United States without a sponsoring employer indefinitely. At this time we can only accept US Citizens, GC EAD, GC Holders, TN Visas.

We are seeking a

Mid-Level Systems Administrator/Engineer

to take ownership of day-to-day IT operations. This role involves collaborating with teams across our clients business to safeguard the organization's brand, data, and IT assets from cyber threats. You will play a key role in deploying, configuring, managing, and maintaining technologies that support the

Cybersecurity Operations Center (CSOC)

and its associated programs. As part of this position, you will support business strategy by integrating processes between CSOC applications and other target systems as needed. You will also act as a

technical liaison

for cybersecurity tools within our client's

Cyber Defense

product suite, effectively communicating technology and product positioning to both business and technical users. The ideal candidate is a

self-motivated, detail-oriented professional

who can work independently, meet deadlines, and communicate effectively. Relationship-building within and outside of the CSOC team is a critical part of this role. A high level of

attention to detail

is required for maintenance, deployments, process adherence, and documentation updates.

Key Responsibilities

Deploy and maintain IT and

cybersecurity tools

and systems. Administer and maintain both

Linux and Windows-based systems , including upgrades, patching, and troubleshooting. Renew and update

TLS certificates

and manage

KEX/MACS/CIPHER

settings on servers. Respond to

audit requests

and implement enterprise hardening measures. Track and update work progress in

Subtasks, Stories, and Epics

within Agile workflows. Develop and maintain

automation scripts

using Ansible, Python, Bash, PowerShell, and Ruby. Deploy and maintain

COTS cybersecurity applications and appliances . Remediate vulnerabilities on

Windows and Linux systems

while ensuring system stability and compliance. Contribute to and maintain

internal engineering documentation

(e.g., tool documentation, lessons learned, procedures). Collaborate with analysts and engineering teams to

optimize and streamline processes . Translate customer issues and opportunities into

technical solutions and business requirements . Provide

on-call and after-hours support

as needed.

Required Skills & Experience

5+ years

of experience in a

large enterprise environment

with change management processes. 3+ years

as a

Systems Administrator

or in a similar role. 3+ years

in a

cybersecurity engineering-related

role, with a focus on enterprise security best practices (PCI-DSS/NCUA experience is a plus). Experience with

change management, problem management, and configuration management

in an enterprise environment. Hands-on experience

with Agile, specifically

Kanban workflows . Strong expertise in

Linux administration

(CentOS, Red Hat, Ubuntu, Cisco derivative OS). Strong expertise in

Windows Server administration . Experience patching and upgrading Linux and Windows-based

operating systems, packages, and applications . Familiarity with

cybersecurity principles

for hardening enterprise systems. Proficiency in

automation scripting

(Ansible, Python, Bash, PowerShell, Ruby). Experience using and integrating

SIEM technologies . Strong knowledge of

network, firewall, routing, switching, load balancing, and proxy technologies . Ability to navigate and thrive in a

ticket-driven enterprise environment

with detailed change management processes.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have)

Experience with

Ansible automation . Experience deploying and managing:

Linux-based Java/Tomcat COTS web applications

in a clustered environment. Windows .NET-based IIS COTS applications

in a clustered environment. Physical or virtual appliances

with limited Linux-based OS CLI interfaces.

Ability to

analyze packet captures

for troubleshooting. Experience using

Jira/Confluence

for project tracking and documentation.
