Nursery Room Leader

Full-Time - Up to 40 hours per week - Monday - Friday - £13.97 per hour

Welcome to Footsteps Nursery Dosthill , where we create a nurturing, nature-inspired environment for children aged 3 months to 5 years. As our Room Leader , you will play a vital role in overseeing the care and development of children aged 3 months to 1 year. You’ll work closely with a talented team of practitioners to create a safe and nurturing environment that fosters physical, emotional, social, and intellectual growth.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Implementing a key person approach to help babies form secure attachments.
• Guiding colleagues in identifying training and development needs.
• Maintaining high-quality learning journals and records using EyLog and EyMan systems.
• Building positive relationships with parents and inviting them to participate in activities.
• Modeling professionalism, consistency, and impartiality within the team.
• Ensuring compliance with EYFS framework and safety standards.

A passion for outdoor learning and a strong understanding of child development will be key to your success in this role.

We’re looking for candidates who possess:

• Full and relevant Level 3 qualification in Childcare (Essential)
• Previous experience working with babies under 2 years old
• A passion for the outdoors and enthusiasm for forest school activities
• A strong understanding of child development and the ability to provide purposeful learning experiences
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially in working with parents and colleagues
• Knowledge of and commitment to safeguarding and child protection
