The role:

You will lead the design and build of a new multi-cloud Kubernetes platform supporting mission-critical managed services and healthcare products.

This is a hands-on architecture role sitting between senior leadership and a team of Kubernetes Engineers. You will define the platform approach, set technical direction, and support the engineers delivering it.

You will play a key role in a wider move from on-prem infrastructure to a cloud-native model across AWS, Azure and GCP.

Non-Negotiables:
  • Kubernetes architecture in large-scale production environments
  • AWS, Azure and/or GCP platform engineering
  • Multi-cloud or hybrid-cloud platform design
  • Strong infrastructure or platform engineering background
  • Experience leading or mentoring engineers
  • Hands-on experience with Terraform and Helm
  • Strong understanding of networking, security and observability in Kubernetes
  • Background in complex, enterprise environments
  • Ability to stay hands-on whilst leading technical direction

Core Responsibilities:
  • Lead the architecture and design of a multi-cloud Kubernetes platform
  • Set standards for scalability, resilience, security and automation
  • Support and guide a team of Kubernetes Engineers
  • Act as the senior technical point of contact for platform decisions
  • Work closely with leadership on platform strategy and delivery
  • Drive best practice across platform engineering, DevOps and SRE
  • Troubleshoot complex platform and cluster issues
  • Define infrastructure as code and deployment standards
  • Help shape the long-term cloud-native roadmap
  • Support the build-out of a new engineering function in Ireland

  • Designing Kubernetes platforms across AWS, Azure and GCP
  • Leading the move to cloud-native environments
  • Supporting engineers with platform design and technical problem-solving
  • Improving reliability, automation and scalability across managed services
  • Setting architecture standards for mission-critical systems
  • Building the foundations of a new Dublin-based platform team

  • Experience in regulated or healthcare environments
