As a **Senior Firmware / Embedded Software Engineer: **
Plan, design, implement, document, and test software applications and components to requirements. Support software architectural design efforts.
Support the software lifecycle development process including creating & reviewing technical requirements from stakeholder requirements, capturing design inputs, design creation, testing, and continuation support.
Provide engineering support to customers and Bosch field support staff.
Engage with project management on schedule development such as creating estimates for product management, evaluating risks and opportunities, creating development plans, and working with stakeholders of software to plan integration.
Work closely with product management, customers, operations, and other stakeholders to develop and articulate products, systems, or technologies
Work with vendors, providing technical inputs and assisting in defining and overseeing the scope of work.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field
Bachelor’s: 8+ years embedded software development experience
Master’s or higher: 5+ years embedded software development experience.
Has experienced most stages of the software development lifecycle process: design input gathering and refinement, design and development, verification, manufacturing deployment and continuation.
Required experience with source code control (e.g. Git, Mercurial).
Preferred experience with Azure DevOps or similar environments such as Atlassian Tools or Gitlab
Preferred prior experience leading software development projects or features.
Preferred prior experience writing automated tests.
Knowledge
Required C/C++ proficiency developing in embedded environments
Preferred knowledge of Python, especially in automated test environments
Required knowledge of design patterns and solutions for common programming challenges in both high and low level languages.
Required knowledge of real-time firmware environments and development methodologies. Preferred especially real-time digital audio
Preferred Microsoft Visual Studio, GCC, IAR Embedded Workbench, TI Code Composer Studio
Preferred GUI design/development knowledge, graphic bitmap/icon formats, font formats
Preferred knowledge of communication systems, audio routing, networking
Preferred experience with digital audio formats and communication technologies used in digital broadcast environments, live media production including but not limited to: VOIP, Dante, OMNEO, ST-2110-30, NMOS
Location
Remote work: expected onsite approximately 3 days/week, varying by project need.
Ability to travel approximately 5% of working time to provide customer support, manufacturing support, as it relates to software etc.
