Fullstack (Ruby on Rails) Engineer

Job Description

Our client, a top Fortune 400 company in the FinTech industry, is seeking a Fullstack (Ruby on Rails) Engineer to join their Braintree Burst Capacity team. This team supports value added services (VAS) and are introducing new products for merchants to self-service.

The Fullstack (Ruby on Rails) Engineer will support the software development lifecycle, looking into design and the approach, solution, etc. They will submit their code, conduct unit testing to ensure the quality is in place for changes, and then submit for review. During the review process, this individual will review code and comments, and another individual will deploy. They will participate in stand-up meetings around 3:30pm each day with the team, review the teams current progress, discuss blockers and tickets for the current and next day. This individual will also participate in pairing sessions, working with team members via shared screens, etc.

Skills and Requirements

5+ years of full stack (Ruby on Rails) development experience

o 30% frontend with React (v18.3 or 19.0.0 preferred) to build UI components

o 70% backend Ruby on Rails, REST API development

o Open Source: PostgreSQL and Jenkins to build pipelines

Comfortable with paired programming

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related degree Experience with Kubernetes and Docker

Experience building dashboards with Datadog (preferred) or Splunk

Understandings the schema of GraphQL

Remix or NextJS framework for UI development

AWS

FinTech, SaaS, or relevant technology industry experience null
