100% Remote (Preference: US Citizens around NYC, NY) We are seeking an experienced
Platform Middleware Engineer
to design, deploy, and support enterprise-grade middleware platforms for large-scale, mission-critical environments. This role supports complex
in-house, vendor, and cloud-based systems
across multiple agencies, with a strong emphasis on
DevOps and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC)
best practices. Responsibilities
Design, deploy, configure, and maintain enterprise middleware platforms including
WebLogic, WebSphere, JBoss, Oracle, IBM, Red Hat, BEA , and related technologies Administer and troubleshoot
Linux-based systems , resolving OS, network, and middleware-level issues Implement
Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC)
using tools such as
Ansible, Terraform, Helm, or Puppet Collaborate closely with
application development and DevOps teams
to support CI/CD pipelines and system lifecycle management Monitor production environments, ensuring
high availability, performance, and stability Prepare and coordinate system deliverables including
architecture design, system analysis, and performance tuning Recommend system enhancements, technology upgrades, and
disaster recovery improvements Ensure compliance with
enterprise governance, security standards, and DevOps best practices Operating Systems
Operating systems used include Linux distributions commonly deployed in enterprise middleware environments. Middleware / Application Servers
BEA WebLogic (9.2 MP2, 10.x, 11g, 12c, 12cR2) IBM WebSphere (v6.1, v7, v8.5) JBoss 6.x, WildFly (9.x, 13.x, 19.x) OBPM 10gR3, ALBPM 5.7.3, TIBCO BPM Web Servers
Experience with web server technologies such as Apache HTTP Server, IBM HTTP Server, and Nginx. Programming & J2EE Technologies
Java/J2EE, C, C++, Visual Basic, SQL, PL/SQL Servlets, JSP, JDBC, JMS, JTA, JNDI, JMX, EJB, RMI Web Technologies
JDK 1.4–1.7, HTML, XML, DHTML, MSXML, ASPX Scripting & Build Tools
WLST, UNIX Shell (Bourne, Korn, Bash, C Shell), Maven, Ant Databases
Oracle (8i–11g), MS SQL Server (7.x/2000/2008), DB2, Sybase, MySQL, MS Access, PointBase Networking & Protocols
15+ years of experience in
enterprise middleware engineering Strong background in
DevOps, automation, and IaC Proven experience supporting
