We are seeking a highly organized and technically proficient Technical Program Manager to lead the development of complex aviation-related hardware and software systems. This role requires a strong understanding of embedded systems, avionics architectures, and full product lifecycle management. The ideal candidate will coordinate cross-functional engineering teams and drive the successful delivery of mission-critical aviation technologies from concept and architecture through certification, production, and deployment. This position is ideal for someone comfortable operating at the intersection of systems engineering, firmware/software development, and hardware product development. Responsibilities
Technical Project Leadership: Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of aviation technology projects including concept, design, development, testing, certification, and deployment Manage projects involving embedded systems, avionics hardware, firmware, and cloud/software platforms Translate systems engineering requirements into actionable project plans and technical deliverables Coordinate development activities across electrical engineering, firmware, software, systems engineering, and QA teams Hardware & Embedded Systems Development: Oversee development of embedded hardware systems, including PCB-based systems, avionics modules, and sensor platforms Coordinate integration of microcontrollers, processors, and embedded operating systems Manage development timelines for prototyping, hardware testing, validation, and production readiness Work closely with engineering teams on hardware bring-up, debugging, and verification Software & Systems Integration: Manage projects involving embedded firmware, real-time systems, and application software Coordinate development using Agile or hybrid Agile/Waterfall methodologies Oversee software lifecycle processes including architecture, implementation, testing, CI/CD pipelines, and release management Ensure successful hardware-software integration and system-level testing Compliance: Collaborate with quality and regulatory teams to maintain documentation and compliance artifacts Project Execution: Develop and manage technical roadmaps, project schedules, milestones and deliverables, resource allocations, and risk mitigation plans Monitor engineering progress and resolve technical blockers Provide regular status updates to executive leadership and stakeholders Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary technical liaison between engineering, product management, leadership, and external partners Facilitate cross-team collaboration and technical decision-making Maintain clear technical documentation and reporting Required Qualifications
5+ years of technical project management experience in hardware/software product development Experience managing embedded systems or avionics-related products Strong understanding of hardware development lifecycle and embedded firmware development Familiarity with systems engineering practices and hardware/software integration Experience working with cross-functional engineering teams Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills Technical Knowledge
Embedded systems architecture Microcontrollers (ARM, STM32, ESP32, etc.) Embedded operating systems (RTOS, Linux) Firmware development workflows Hardware design lifecycle (schematics, PCB design, prototyping, manufacturing) Sensor integration and avionics interfaces Software development pipelines and DevOps Tools & Platforms Jira Confluence Git / GitHub / GitLab CI/CD systems MS Project or similar scheduling tools Systems modeling tools (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink, SysML tools) Preferred Qualifications
Bachelors or Master’s degree in: Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Computer Science PMP, PMI-ACP, or equivalent project management certification Experience working with avionics systems or aerospace-grade electronics Experience with safety-critical system development Familiarity with hardware manufacturing and supply chain processes Knowledge of systems engineering frameworks (MBSE, SysML) Why Join Us
