The Walt Disney Studios Content Security organization is chartered with the securing and protection of all creative content throughout the production lifecycle. We do this by relying on deep technical expertise, strong and authentic partnerships and leveraging knowledge and best practices of the world of cybersecurity, technology and production. The Content Security organization is a part of the broader Studio Technology organization, reporting into the Studio’s Chief Technology Officer (CTO).
The Director, Content Security Production Engineering reports into the Vice President of Content Security and is a Monday to Thursday in the office in-person role based in Glendale, CA. Fridays are remote. The Director, Content Security Engineering will oversee all aspects of the strategy and tactical execution of a robust internal technical consulting function overseeing a team of seasoned Engineers.
This role requires a strategic and operational leader who combines deep technical expertise with a proven track record of building, mentoring, and leading high-performing teams. This executive is accountable for driving results, resolving escalations, and fostering a culture of ownership and innovation. The Director is both a technical authority and a decisive manager, able to influence at all levels and deliver on the mission of securing Disney Studios’ creative content.
Responsibilities
Develop the strategy and manage key program execution including, but not limited to:
Production Security: Work with Studio Technology teams and production creatives to ensure Disney content remains protected real time without being a blocker for the creative process
Site and Vendor Security: Oversee internal site and 3rd party vendor security assessment programs, understanding where content is being handled across the production pipeline.
Vendor Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, understanding their technology roadmaps, security strategies, and plans for AI adoption.
Industry Partnership: Serve as the primary point of contact for industry partners, representing Disney Studios in external forums.
Drive continuous improvement of production security documentation, processes, and training materials.
Socialize security programs and initiatives, including the development and delivery of executive-level presentations.
Monitor program performance, report on metrics, and ensure accountability for delivery and risk mitigation.
Oversee day-to-day teams' operation and performance.
Evaluate and recommend new and emerging security products and technologies.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, IT Engineering, or equivalent years of experience.
7 years of progressive people management experience of technical staff.
