From creating and optimizing queries and indexes to designing advanced data pipelines that feed dashboards, APIs, and BI tools with near real-time performance expectations. Expert level MySQL experience 8+ years of experience in database administration and development Expert in SQL, inclu ding functions, stored procedures, triggers, index management, partitioning, sharding, and query optimization. Max-performance tuning DevOps experience with AWS or GCP and Terraform, Ansible. Working knowledge of Docker, PHP/GoLang/Python Build & Scale existing Cloud Infrastructure, max performance tuning AWS Aurora/RDS replication, multi-region, multi-AZ Recent experience with downstream tooling like Kinesis, SQS, Clickhouse, Metabase Recent experience with upstream tooling like ProxySQL, Redis, Faktory, NATS.io, REST APIs Deep experience with data schema architecture and ETL design

Duties and responsibilities

Design and review the database configuration(s) based on project and application requirements Implement and support code through stored scripts, triggers, queries, and procedures. Assist with application implementation projects from commencement to realization. Ensure changes to the infrastructure, schema or live application are duly tested and allow for roll-back. Support any database or report inquiries from clients or business teams in a timely manner. Ensure a stable environment by monitoring reporting systems, including troubleshooting performance issues and monitoring database health. Assist with database system design and development. Proactive performance tuning, autoscaling and observability. Improve the performance and reliability of database systems. Provide architecture and technical leadership focused on database performance, capacity, and availability. Create physical and logical database models that meet the needs of the business. Prepare documentation for tasks such as database design, configuration, and change management. Create and maintain BI dashboards, data feeds, and APIs
