Role Overview:
As an
Avionics Embedded Software Engineer , you will develop embedded software for spacecraft hardware. You will balance cost, speed, and performance trade-offs while driving your systems from prototyping through production and surface operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Own the development of embedded software from concept to deployment in extreme environments.
Write efficient, reliable, and maintainable code for spacefaring hardware.
Participate in system architecture, design, and code reviews.
Develop sensor and actuator drivers, telemetry systems, command and control interfaces, and process management systems.
Integrate GNC/Autonomy algorithms into custom hardware.
Design and implement SIL and HIL test frameworks with a focus on both speed and reliability.
Required Qualifications:
Proficiency in
Python
and
C, C++, or Rust .
Degree in
Computer Science, Electrical Engineering , or related field, OR significant professional experience designing embedded systems.
2+ years of experience in embedded system design and development.
Strong understanding of
computer architecture, operating systems, data structures, and networking .
Experience developing embedded systems for
aerospace, automotive, or robotics applications .
Familiarity with
Embedded Linux or Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) .
Excellent communication skills and a track record of engineering excellence.
Passion for advancing human space exploration.
Preferred Qualifications:
Hands-on experience developing, debugging, and deploying embedded software in real-world systems.
Experience in
agile development environments .
Professional experience in
technical leadership roles .
Ability to develop software on rapid timelines and take full ownership of deliverables.
Self-motivated with high productivity and problem-solving skills.
