General Role Description

The Senior Technology Systems Designer provides creative and proactive solutions for our clients and their projects. This role is responsible for providing a positive consultative engagement to our clients and for leading the technology systems design team to surpass our client's expectations. This person is responsible for working directly with project managers, other senior technology designers, and technology designers to ensure the full scope of technology services is facilitated on each project. Throughout a project, they will provide ongoing collaboration with all design team members and design partners while also teaching/mentoring technology designers to ensure AE Design continues to excel at a very high level in design.

The Senior Technology Systems Designer must be proficient in the design of Audio Video systems and the system's application to Construction Drawings, One-Lines, CSI Specifications, Submittal Reviews, and RFI responses. In addition, this person must possess a fundamental understanding of telecommunication system and security system design. This role is responsible for the progression of the technology design in whole and the timely engagement of other staff who have a telecommunications or security Area of Focus.

This role will work with Business Development to engage with client organizations that are top prospects as well as improving and expanding relationships with our existing key clients. This role works directly with project managers to ensure timeliness and relationship goals are accomplished on a project.

This position reports to the Technology Studio Lead and has direct supervisory responsibilities over the Technology System Designers.

Key Responsibilities

Design

Execute the firms larger and more complex design projects

Develop, coach and mentor Technology Systems Designers

Deliver quality control procedures as they relate to design objectives

Collaborate with clients, consultants, staff, and others to prepare programming and conceptual through detailed design solutions

Ensure timely completion of design documents by fully utilizing the resources of the firm, while meeting the design budgets and schedules

Facilitate meetings to build consensus and effectively solve project design issues

Review design intent related to construction documents and shop drawings to ensure consistency with client needs and design objectives

Higher level oversite and direction as well as leading technology systems designers incompletion of projects • Act as liaison between Technology

Systems Designers and A/V Systems Designers and Senior Project Manager, Project Manager and/or Technology Studio Lead

Work with Technology Studio Lead to assist with guiding the future of AE Design as it relates to Technology Design

Stay current with technology trends and educate staff

Business Development

Use of Client Relationship Management (CRM) software program

Participate in the Market Share Process - focused on market segments / new clients / new business

Participate in the Client Share Process - focused on existing clients / growing existing business

Participate in select Project Pursuit Approaches

Contribute project specific content to select RFPs

Participate in select project interview process

Risk Management

Assist Senior Project Manager/Project Manager/ Technology Studio Lead with any design risk management for assigned projects to help bring to resolution

What You Bring to the Table:

An undergraduate degree in engineering, technology, or media arts production related to audio/music or film/video; or comparable experience

5+ years of experience in the design and installation of audio, video, and technology systems from conception through construction administration

Experience using AutoCAD, REVIT, and Bluebeam to develop drawing sets

Knowledge of specification writing in CSI 3-part format

Capable of managing your time and activities for optimal productivity

Timely communication with senior staff regarding project work progression and status
