POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES Provides leadership and supervision to all technical staff that work in the Inpatient (not IV Sterile Admixture), decentralized areas. Assures that all requirements to meet JCAHO, OSHA and Texas State Board of Pharmacy are met with regard to inpatient drug distribution. Responsible for hiring, firing, training, evaluating and retaining technical staff in the Inpatient area. Assists the designated Manager of Support Services in all matters related to drug distribution and decentralized activities.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Graduation from high school/GED required or equivalent experience is required. Some coursework at the college level is preferred. Five years of experience as a Registered Pharmacy Technician is required. Four or more years of experience as a Chief or Lead Technician in a contemporary hospital pharmacy is preferred. May substitute required experience as Registered Pharmacy Technician with additional years of management experience.
LICENSURE Texas State Board of Pharmacy registration required. Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) is recommended.
