A Production Planner , is responsible for optimizing production workflows, managing resource availability, and creating production schedules. Planner look after between sales forecasts and manufacturing execution, managing the entire lifecycle of a product from material acquisition to finished goods inventory.

Their responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Plan and maintain detailed daily and weekly production schedules based on customer orders and sales forecasts.
  • Develop a long-term planning for the raw material purchases.
  • Monitor inventory levels to maximise Just-in-time inventory management.
  • Detect and resolve issues when they arise.
  • Analyse production data to identify inefficiencies to reduce cost and improve workflow.
  • Collaborate with purchasing, sales, warehouse, quality control, and floor supervisors to align production with goals.
  • Prepare production status and performance reports.

Experience: 2–5+ years of experience in production planning or a manufacturing environment.

Technical and Analytical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems, Advanced MS Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups) and strong mathematical skills for forecasting.

Soft Skills: Strong organizational skills, problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication for coordinating across teams.

Manufacturing Management Experience

  • Experience in manufacturing environnement.
  • Hands-on experience in the agri-food sector, ideally within an SME.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency with production management tools (ERP, KPIs).
  • Understanding of traceability, inventory management, and production planning challenges.

Human and Managerial Skills

  • Strategic mindset and strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and ability to collaborate with other departments (sales, purchasing).
  • Ability to make quick decisions in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
  • Results-oriented, with a focus on quality and customer satisfaction.
