Battery Cells are the common denominator for every Tesla product. Our product requirements necessitate ground-up cell architectures with state-of-the-art performance, manufactured at volumes that are orders of magnitude higher than the products they power. You will work alongside seasoned industry experts, high aptitude recent graduates, and people from every stage in between. We look for anyone with an exceptional ability to solve problems in both individual and team settings. In this role, you will guide the development towards reliable new cell technologies and products. Your will manage cell lifetime and address critical design risks through both lab testing and fleet insights. You will leverage lab test results to predict the cell reliability of our products in the field and grow the confidence for decision making.

Responsibilities

Create models using both lab and fleet data to evaluate lithium-ion battery performance over life for new and existing cells Develop both standard and accelerated test protocols based on expected field scenarios and identify unique failure modes of new cell designs Interpret electrochemical, mechanical and other lab test data to forecast cell product field reliability and assign program risks Collaborate on failure analysis to understand the root cause and drive mitigation actions Requirements

Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science/Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electric Engineering or equivalent experience Strong understanding of lithium-ion cell chemistry and degradation mechanism Strong Programming skills and experience in Python, etc. Experience on statistical analysis preferred Excellent written and verbal communication skills Compensation and Benefits Benefits

$104,000 - $156,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
