Image Engineering was founded as a company that pushes boundaries, develops new ideas through design and

fabrication, and is a leader in the visual display and special effects industry. We are comprised of a team of artists,

engineers, event producers, fabricators, and creative thinkers.

We have worked all over the United States completing thousands of projects in the field of creative multimedia

shows for clients such as Rihanna, Jay Z, Tiesto, Lady Gaga, American Idol, America's Got Talent and multiple

professional sports franchises in the NFL, NBA, and NHL. We have also created permanent and temporary

interactive installations for world-class venues including the Staples Center, The John F. Kennedy Center for the

Performing Arts, The Smithsonian Institutions, and Walt Disney World.

Our strength lies in our engineering department focuses on creating custom practical special effects that the

world has never seen before. With an in-house team of mechanical, electrical, and integration/ show controls

engineers we are able to design exactly what our clients are looking for from the ground up. Our in-house team of

fabricators and assemblers bring these designs to life with the use of cutting-edge equipment. As our newest

Role Description

Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Full Time (On-site), Salary

M-F, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM

Job Summary

The Mechanical Design Engineer is the first step in our process of taking an idea or design and making it reality. We are looking for a dedicated senior engineer interested in joining Image Engineering to design and engineer the next cutting edge entertainment technology, whether for game day presentation on an NFL field, a tour for a musical artist or permanent installation in a themed entertainment environment. This individual would be based at our Headquarters in Baltimore,

Primary Responsibilities

Design and engineer custom solutions for never-before-seen entertainment technology, set piece design and industrial applications Interface with clients and design teams to understand project application Create 2D sketches or preliminary drawings to communicate initial concept design Consult with engineering and manufacturing teammates to ensure design feasibility Understands electrical design principles and design considerations for integration of electronic components Collaborate with design department to ensure original design intent is being carried out by the engineered design Create 3D models in CAD Preform necessary calculations to validate design Present progress and final designs to greater engineering team for complete design review Identify and select appropriate materials for design and fabrication Provide Project Managers with materials and time cost estimates for fabrication process Provide recommendations for in-house fabrication and outsourced fabrications as dictated by project Assist with vendor sourcing and relationship building Create project Bill of Materials with associated project fabrication budget Provide Direction of prototype builds by developing and executing a build schedule and plan Direct production run mechanical assembly production through proper documentation, assembly drawing creation and shop team oversight Continuously conduct research into new technologies, methods, and applications to inform project design, engineering & innovation Work collaboratively with the Quality Assurance Engineer to Ensure proper project documentation Provide guidance and mentoring to Junior Design Engineers to assist in their growth and professional development Requirements

Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Design required 5+ years of experience in similar Design Engineering role Ability to work on tight timelines associated with the fast-paced entertainment industry; as well as long lead time permanent installations for themed entertainment/ museum-based projects Sound knowledge of mechanical design principles, high level of attention to detail, analytical and ability to creative problem solve Ability to turn creative designs into practical real-world engineered solutions Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proficient with Solidworks, Autodesk, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and Apple Keynote Strong work ethic and team-based mentality Able to pass background check 18 years of age or older

Salary Description

$95,000 - $105,000
