Location: Central Pennsylvania Position Type: Hybrid Hybrid Schedule: Onsite as needed in the Central PA area Contract Length: Long-term with annual extensions
Position Overview: This role supports enterprise edge networking operations by maintaining and optimizing network infrastructure across distributed environments. The position focuses on hands-on network engineering, troubleshooting, and contributing to the design and deployment of secure, high-performing network solutions.
Duties:
Install, configure, and maintain network infrastructure including switches, routers, SD-WAN edge appliances, wireless systems, and cellular-based devices Monitor, test, troubleshoot, and resolve network issues using industry-standard tools in collaboration with users, vendors, and internal teams Utilize Cisco CLI for configuration, diagnostics, and ongoing network management Support network deployments, upgrades, and change management initiatives Manage and resolve ServiceNow tickets, ensuring proper documentation and adherence to established processes Assist in piloting and rolling out new networking technologies to meet operational needs Proactively identify and resolve complex network issues, coordinating with other networking teams as needed Evaluate emerging technologies and provide recommendations for network improvements and hardware refresh cycles Assess current and future network requirements and propose technical solutions Contribute to the development and review of network configuration standards Participate in the design and optimization of complex edge network environments Ensure network infrastructure meets established security standards and requirements Create and maintain network diagrams and documentation (e.g., Visio) for existing and new environments Document configuration, installation, and deployment procedures for network components Provide support to remote IT staff, operations teams, and business partners for network-related issues Maintain knowledge of network monitoring tools and automation practices Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders Perform additional duties as assigned
Required Skills:
3+ years of experience in network routing, including planning, implementation, and troubleshooting of enterprise networks 3+ years of experience in network switching, with hands-on configuration and maintenance of switches in complex environments
Preferred Skills:
1+ year of CCNA certification or equivalent hands-on networking experience 2+ years of experience working with SD-WAN technologies and edge network deployments
