Title:
Senior System Engineer
Location : Southern Region (Hybrid - 3 to 4 Days Onsite)
Description:
The Senior System Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing enterprise-level IT infrastructure, supporting business-critical applications, and ensuring system reliability. This role involves planning system upgrades, troubleshooting issues, optimizing performance, and leading infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in virtualized environments, networking, server administration, and security best practices.
Responsibilities:
Infrastructure Management & System Administration:
Install, configure, and maintain IT infrastructure and enterprise systems.
Support and troubleshoot complex enterprise-level applications and hardware.
Ensure optimal system performance by monitoring and resolving technical issues.
Manage multi-server networks across various operating systems.
Perform diagnostic tests on systems to identify and resolve faults.
Project Leadership & System Upgrades:
Lead infrastructure projects, ensuring successful implementation of system upgrades.
Collaborate with stakeholders to align IT solutions with business needs.
Design and document technical requirements and system architecture.
Maintain security policies and implement best practices to protect IT assets.
Technical Support & Collaboration:
Provide guidance to junior administrators and train team members on system operations.
Act as an escalation point for complex system-related issues.
Work cross-functionally to support IT infrastructure across multiple teams.
Required Skills:
Expertise in VMware, Linux, Cisco UCS, and database administration.
Strong knowledge of networking, Active Directory, and security best practices.
Experience managing Windows Server (2016/2019/2022) and Linux-based systems.
Proficiency in backup/restoration, storage management, and disaster recovery planning.
Hands-on experience with F5 Load Balancers, SolarWinds monitoring tools, and Cisco networking.
Ability to optimize system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement automation.
Strong communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
Desired Certifications:
VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA)
Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP)
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
A+ or Network+ certification
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related technical field (or equivalent technical proficiency).
7+ years of experience in system engineering, infrastructure design, and enterprise IT support.
Experience supporting enterprise production databases, storage networks, and virtualized environments.
Proven ability to lead IT projects, collaborate with vendors, and document system configurations.

Compensation:
Rate: $53.9-$77 per hour
