We are currently looking for an ambitious Electrical Project Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent technical skills and proven experience in all aspects of electrical design, construction, safety & client satisfaction. This role is based in Dublin and surrounding areas depending on sites.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead comprehensive design reviews of drawings, specifications, and schedules to ensure full compliance with project requirements, industry standards, and QA plans, including benchmarking and verification.
  • Develop, evaluate, and present engineering solutions, including detailed calculations, sketches, and technical documentation for client review and approval.
  • Oversee the interpretation of Design/IFC specifications and drawings to fully understand project scope, ensuring specification compliance, schedule adherence, and timely management of Requests for Information (RFIs).
  • Utilize engineering software tools (Dialux, Relux, Amtech Pro Design, Navisworks, BIM 360, Procore, or equivalent) to coordinate, validate, and optimize designs.
  • Review coordinated construction drawings and technical documentation, preparing and monitoring submittals for client approval and ensuring alignment with project objectives.
  • Evaluate specialist supplier packages for compliance with project specifications, design intent, and applicable industry standards.
  • Collaborate closely with the procurement team to develop and monitor procurement schedules, ensuring timely availability of materials and equipment.
  • Review BCAR preliminary inspection plans and coordinate with the quality team. Monitor and report on LEED, BREEAM, and other sustainability or regulatory requirements.
  • Mentor subordinate engineers and support team development, promoting best practices, technical excellence, and adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Coordination and planning of specialist sub-contractors commissioning activities
  • Compilation of O&M Manuals, Completion/Test Packs and Handover packs.

Role Requirements

  • Level 7/8 Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Services Engineering, or Building Services Engineering.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in building services or construction projects, with proven technical leadership.
  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, Navisworks, Microsoft Office Suite, and other engineering software tools.
  • Excellent project management, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong ability to work independently, lead multidisciplinary teams, and manage multiple priorities under strict deadlines.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and client-facing skills.
  • In‑depth knowledge of current electrical, fire alarm, and emergency lighting standards within Ireland.
  • Demonstrated ability to make informed decisions under pressure and guide project teams toward successful delivery. xcfaprz
