As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the design, coordination, and delivery of structural solutions, while supporting the development of junior engineers and contributing to client engagement.
You will work within highly experienced teams on a wide range of projects, from concept through to construction, ensuring technical excellence and efficient design outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the design and delivery of structural engineering projects from concept to completion
- Prepare and review structural analysis, calculations, and technical reports
- Take ownership of project elements, ensuring delivery to programme and budget
- Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, contractors, and wider design teams
- Attend and lead design team meetings and client engagements
- Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure compliance with design and specifications
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
- Contribute to value engineering and commercial decision-making
- Support the development of client relationships and identify new business opportunities
- Ensure designs comply with relevant standards, including Eurocodes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a deep understanding of structural engineering principles
- Proven experience in buildings-focused structural design
- Ability to lead projects and work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and graphical)
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
- Commercial awareness and ability to deliver efficient design solutions
- 6+ yearsβ structural engineering xcfaprz experience (Ireland or UK experience essential)
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) or close to achieving Chartered status with Engineers Ireland or equivalent
- Level 8 Honours Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Experience in mentoring and supporting junior team members
- Strong client-facing skills and ability to build lasting relationships
