We have an immediate need for a Senior Associate Civil Engineer  for our Mineola, Long Island Office.     Come join our team! (GISI), the parent company of The LiRo Group and Hill International, Inc. consolidated a portion of the highly experienced staff of both LiRo and Hill in the Northeast to create a larger, more efficient, and cost-effective team to serve clients.  LiRo-Hill  is a 1100-person firm with offices in NYC, Long Island, Buffalo, Rochester, Boston and Edison, NJ.  
Responsibilities
  • Serve as lead civil engineer for local townships and villages on Long Island in the consultation, review and preparation of site plans, roadway improvements, drainage upgrades, traffic safety, and streetscape efforts.
  • As the village or township engineer, lead the preparation of design plans, bid books and specifications, oversight of construction inspections, and final closeout of construction.
  • Attend planning board meetings and serve as a specialty civil engineering consultant (attendance at evening meetings once per week on average).
  • Respond to RFPs and prepare letter proposals for new contracts and task orders.
  • Lead and direct civil engineering design staff as well as field inspectors on ongoing municipal projects.
  • Quickly respond and travel to local building departments and departments of public work as LiRo’s representative to support local infrastructure projects.
  • Perform plan reviews for quality assurance, constructability, and conformance to Nassau County, Suffolk County, and NYSDOT standards.
  • Financial management of projects and resource staffing.
  • Attendance at industry functions and business development events

    • Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
  • 10+ years’ experience in Civil Engineering
  • NY PE required
  • Ability to provide guidance to junior level engineers
  • Understanding and application of local code requirements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and consistently meet deadlines

  • We offer a comprehensive benefits package and a positive work environment
  • Compensation:  Minimum: $125,000; Maximum: $170,000. The range provided is the salary that the Firm in good faith believes at the time of this posting is willing to pay. Exact compensation will be determined on the individual candidate’s qualifications and location.
