Position Summary
The Continuous Improvement Specialist supports operational excellence initiatives by analyzing current processes, identifying improvement opportunities, and implementing Lean based solutions. This role acts as a change agent, facilitating Kaizen events, coaching teams, and promoting a culture of continuous improvement across manufacturing and business operations. Responsibilities include reducing process variation, eliminating waste, standardizing workflows, and sustaining measurable performance gains.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Analyze current work methods and processes to identify opportunities for common processes and best demonstrated practices.
Serve as a change agent by providing leadership, coaching, and training in Lean thinking and Lean production.
Support integration of continuous improvement by measuring, charting, and reducing process variation.
Facilitate Kaizen events, CI interventions, and employee involvement teams.
Measure and analyze current state performance and evaluate results of implemented changes.
Track, validate, and report predicted savings and financial benefits.
Create and maintain visual management systems to sustain improvements.
Coordinate Lean and CORE aligned training for personnel.
Communicate project status and issues to all levels of management.
Assist Business Units in eliminating waste and improving processes aligned with strategic plans.
Analyze workforce utilization, space requirements, workflow, and workspace layout using Lean principles.
Education & Experience
1-3 years of related work experience.
Associates or technical degree required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Applicable industry/professional certification.
Strong understanding of Lean concepts and continuous improvement methodologies.
Ability to solve complex problems and work with minimal supervision.
Physical Requirements
Moderate work: up to 40 lbs occasionally, 20 lbs frequently, 10 lbs constantly. Occasional reaching, pushing/pulling, standing, walking. Frequent sitting, hearing, and talking.
Work Environment
Moderate noise level. Frequent work in office and production/manufacturing environments. Occasional proximity to moving parts.
Salary Range- $87,000- $107,000
