Our team supports the Navys Personnel Accountability and Assessment System (PAAS), a mission-critical enterprise web application that provides personnel accountability, family assistance, case management, and reporting to ensure full accountability and crisis response across the Department of Defense.PAAS has been in continuous operation for 20 years and continues to evolve. Our work directly impacts service members and their families during critical events, and we take that responsibility seriously.DescriptionWe are seeking a full-time SQL Server database developer to support our software team developing and maintaining an enterprise level J2EE system.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering database products and services for complex systems, a strong understanding of software engineering, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The selected candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining database features for the PAAS family of systems:Duties:Design, create, alter, and maintain MS SQL Server 2017+ objects including tables, views, triggers, scalar functions, table-valued functions, stored procedures, and indexes.As a part of the development team, participate in all phases of development projects and provide creation and modification of database objects to support ongoing tasking.Develop, maintain, and support multiple enterprise level DoD personnel SQL Server Databases, data feeds, and stored procedures.Work with business users to define, refine, and complete meaningful data requests to support requirements.Skills & Experience:Requires 3+ Years of professional MS SQL Server development experience.Understanding of database design practices.Strong SQL coding skills (SQL Server/T-SQL).Experience designing, implementing, testing, tuning, and optimizing stored procedures.Debugging database performance issues.Experience working with large data sets and large databases is preferred.Experience supporting a team of developers.Experience and understanding of the U.S. DoD personnel domain is preferred.Must be an effective verbal and written communicator.Other Requirements:U.S. Citizenship (mandatory)Ability to obtain or maintain Secret Security Clearance (mandatory)Ability to obtain or maintain CompTIA Security+ and Windows Server 2012+ certification (mandatory)Prior work with Navy or DoD enterprise applications (desired)Work Environment:Fully Remote within the U.S.Part of a small, collaborative team where everyone contributes across rolesIterative release cycleDirect interaction with technical leadsCompensation:$40-52 per hour (W2)Competitive Benefits package includedConsistent history of merit-based annual bonusesHow to ApplySend your resume to: HR@cognetictech.comBeware of scammers pretending to represent Cognetic Technologies!
