Our dynamic logistics company is seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to join our bustling warehouse operations in Boston, Massachusetts. This critical role ensures the accuracy and integrity of our inventory, directly impacting our supply chain efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. You will be responsible for maintaining precise inventory records, conducting regular cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and implementing inventory control procedures to minimize loss and optimize stock levels. This position requires a thorough understanding of warehouse management systems and best practices in inventory control. You will collaborate with various departments, including shipping, receiving, and procurement, to ensure seamless operations. Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories to verify stock accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Implement and enforce inventory control policies and procedures.
- Monitor stock levels and report on inventory aging and obsolescence.
- Process inventory adjustments and transfers.
- Ensure proper storage and organization of inventory items.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Support receiving and shipping departments as needed to maintain workflow.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement in inventory management.
Proven experience in inventory control or a related warehouse role. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with WMS software. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of logistics and supply chain principles. Must be comfortable with lifting up to 30 lbs. Commitment to safety in all aspects of the job.
