We are hiring an Order Picker to join our team in Virginia Beach, Virginia. This is a fundamental role in our logistics chain, responsible for accurately retrieving items from our warehouse shelves to fulfill customer orders. As an Order Picker, you will work with a high level of precision to ensure that the correct products and quantities are selected. Your daily tasks will involve navigating the warehouse, utilizing order picking equipment, and verifying product details. Maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to all safety protocols, including the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is paramount. This position requires stamina and focus, as you will be on your feet for most of your shift and regularly engaged in lifting items up to 50 lbs. A keen eye for detail and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team are essential. Experience with hand-held scanners and warehouse management systems is advantageous. Responsibilities:
- Receive and interpret order picking lists or use scanning devices.
- Accurately locate and retrieve specified items from warehouse shelves.
- Verify product codes and quantities against order requirements.
- Transport picked items to designated packing or staging areas.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and company policies.
- Properly use and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Report any discrepancies in inventory or product damage.
- Meet established productivity and accuracy targets.
- Assist with other warehouse tasks as needed to support logistics flow.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as an order picker or in a warehouse environment is preferred.
- Ability to read and understand pick lists and product information.
- Capable of regular lifting (up to 50 lbs) and performing physical tasks.
- Good stamina and ability to stand/walk for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Familiarity with warehouse safety practices.
- Team-oriented with the ability to work independently.
- Basic understanding of logistics operations.
- Reliable and punctual.
