Join our dynamic team as a Shipping Clerk in the key logistics hub of Baltimore, Maryland! This role is essential for ensuring the efficient and accurate dispatch of all outgoing shipments. You will be responsible for overseeing the entire shipping process, from preparing packages to coordinating with carriers. Your core duties will involve verifying order details, selecting appropriate packaging, accurately labeling parcels, and generating all necessary shipping documentation. You will also be tasked with scheduling carrier pick-ups and maintaining meticulous records of all outbound freight. Maintaining compliance with all relevant shipping regulations and company guidelines is a priority. This role demands a high level of organization, accuracy, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Some lifting and handling of packages will be required. Safety is our top priority; therefore, adherence to all safety protocols and the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is non-negotiable. Your contribution is vital to our logistics operations, ensuring that products reach our customers on time and in excellent condition. Be a crucial link in our supply chain.
Responsibilities:
- Process and prepare all outgoing shipments efficiently and accurately.
- Verify shipping orders to ensure correct items and quantities are dispatched.
- Select appropriate packaging materials to ensure product safety during transit.
- Apply correct shipping labels and documentation to all packages.
- Coordinate pick-up schedules with various shipping carriers.
- Maintain detailed and organized shipping logs and records.
- Operate shipping equipment and relevant software systems.
- Ensure adherence to all local and federal shipping regulations.
- Support the receiving department as needed.
- Prioritize safety in all tasks and utilize mandatory PPE.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree is a plus. Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a related logistics role is required. Comprehensive knowledge of shipping processes, carriers, and documentation. Familiarity with warehouse management systems and shipping software. Excellent organizational abilities and a keen eye for detail. Capacity to lift and maneuver packages weighing up to 50 pounds. Strong understanding of workplace safety standards and the correct use of PPE. Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines in a demanding environment. Good communication and problem-solving skills. Professional demeanor and a team-oriented approach.
