Our dynamic logistics facility in Austin, Texas, is seeking a dedicated Receiving Clerk. This role is essential for the initial stages of our supply chain, ensuring that all incoming goods are processed accurately and efficiently. As a Receiving Clerk, you will be responsible for unloading trucks, inspecting incoming shipments for damage or discrepancies, verifying received goods against purchase orders, and stocking items in their designated locations. You will utilize various warehouse equipment and maintain meticulous records. A strong understanding of warehouse operations, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety are paramount. This position requires physical stamina and the ability to handle materials responsibly. We provide comprehensive training, including proper lifting techniques, and all necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming freight from trucks safely and efficiently.
- Inspect all incoming merchandise for accuracy, quality, and damage.
- Verify received items against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Accurately record received goods into the inventory management system.
- Tag and label merchandise appropriately for stocking.
- Move received products to designated storage areas using pallet jacks or other equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Collaborate with other warehouse staff to ensure smooth inbound logistics flow.
- Follow all company safety guidelines and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory cycle counts and audits as required.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse receiving or similar role is preferred.
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using basic computer systems and scanners.
- Understanding of warehouse safety practices and procedures.
- Willingness to wear required PPE.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- Physical ability to perform the demands of the job, including standing, bending, and lifting.
