Position Purpose

Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for performing CNC machinery and operational tasks.

Responsibilities
  • Set up and perform machining on CNC machines;
  • Install tools and fixtures according to operation sheets;
  • Operate the machines;
  • Maximize productivity by operating multiple machines during waiting phases or long machining cycles;
  • In the absence of the team leader, identify the required tasks using the priority list in the ERP system;
  • Ensure accurate reporting of all activities by clocking tasks as precisely as possible according to established standards, and notify the supervisor if unable to do so in order to capture lost time;
  • Ensure that all work procedures are followed (program revisions);
  • Inspect parts and complete the self‑inspection sheet;
  • Maintain cleanliness of the workstation, machine, and keep tools and measuring instruments in proper condition;
  • Communicate instructions and the status of ongoing work to the next shift;
  • Inform the supervisor of any anomalies or issues that could hinder production performance;
  • Clean the workstation and document the operation sheet for work completed;
  • Perform any other related tasks.
Job Requirements
Required Education
  • Diploma Vocational Studies (DVS) in Machining Techniques or equivalent (minimum);
  • ASP or DEC in Machining (an asset).
Technical Skills
  • Ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings and blueprints;
  • Ability to use measuring instruments;
  • Ability to perform setups for both simple and complex parts;
  • Detail‑oriented and autonomous; organized; able to work in a team;
  • Ability to work under pressure while meeting tight deadlines;
  • Able to perform tasks with minimal supervision;
  • Excellent proficiency in French (spoken and written). Knowledge of English is considered an asset
