About

Purpose of the Role:

As a Product Development Engineer, you will primarily focus on the development of our core commercial vehicle safety and efficiency product range, with a strong emphasis on electronic engineering. You will play an essential role in the Research & Development and Technology Department, contributing to both product development and project management. You will support the design and verification of our product portfolio, ensuring the client stays at the forefront of technology.

This position requires a solid understanding of engineering principles, as well as a good grasp of both electronic and mechanical design, product verification, and software development. You'll work closely with suppliers, manage technical relationships, and ensure timely market delivery of innovative products. In this role, you will also collaborate with the Quality and Applications teams to tailor products for customer needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Functional:

  • Lead and manage product development throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Liaise and manage multiple suppliers and manufacturers across various regions.
  • Create engineering specifications and requirements for new products.
  • Oversee product design and development for manufacturing feasibility.
  • Conduct product verification and validation, both in-house and with external resources.
  • Prepare detailed technical documentation, including component drawings and user manuals.
  • Assist customers, sales, and marketing teams with technical solutions and product support.

Technology:

  • Expertise in LCD display and Camera development technologies.
  • In-depth knowledge of video and audio processing, digital recording, and interfaces.
  • Work with object detection systems based on radar, ultrasonic, and camera imaging technologies.
  • Involve in acoustic alarm systems and circuit design (both analog and digital).
  • Utilize micro and digital signal processing systems and communication protocols (e.g., CAN, I2C, SPI, RS232).
  • Software/hardware integration and awareness of software engineering principles.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve product faults down to PCB level.

Person Specification:

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years' practical experience in electronics product development.
  • Knowledge: Solid understanding of analog and digital electronics, including micro processing, DSP, video signal processing, camera, optics, acoustics, and digital recording technologies.
  • Software Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Suite, CAD development tools (both mechanical and electrical).
