Principal Process Engineer - Water

Location: England, Hybrid

We are seeking a highly experienced Process Engineer for one of our key clients in the construction industry. This reputable consultancy firm specialises in design and engineering services across various sectors, including aviation, defence, and public infrastructure. Established over 60 years, they operate a network of offices throughout Europe. They are committed to delivering sustainable, innovative solutions, shaping a healthier, sustainable, and safer world.

This individual will need to offer a fresh approach to conventional thinking and work collaboratively to meet a wide range of business, environmental, and regulatory difficulties.

Responsibilities

As a Principal Process Engineer, you will be involved in projects from conception to completion including:

  • Supporting the Project Manager/Water Sector Director to clarify the project brief (agree on deliverable's, key milestones, project methodology etc).
  • Undertaking significant elements of the detailed design and the checking of and overseeing key outputs (Including, process modelling and calculations, flow and load data summary, process flow diagrams, P&ID's & data-sheets, control philosophies, HAZID & HAZOP studies, process input into commissioning plans).
  • Ensuring designs comply with process standards, regulations and Water Company Standards.
  • Business development activities including assisting with the preparation of capability statements and the submission of pre-qualification questionnaires, expressions of interest and tenders, and building strong relationships with new and existing clients to drive growth and secure repeat business.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience managing wastewater and/ or water schemes.
  • In-depth knowledge of the layout and interconnectivity of typical wastewater treatment works processes and equipment.
  • Good knowledge of industry design software packages.
  • Be degree-qualified (or equivalent) in Process Engineering or another relevant subject.
  • Be an incorporated or Chartered member of a relevant engineering institution.
