Role: Model Maker – Wind Tunnel Development

We are seeking a skilled Model Maker to contribute to the evolution of high-performance motorsport technology in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with experts in design, engineering, and aerodynamics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend wind tunnel tests and implement model modifications under the guidance of the aerodynamic team.
  • Collaborate with designers, engineers, and aerodynamicists to develop scale models and enhance working practices.
  • Maintain the highest standards of quality and meet tight deadlines.
  • Foster excellent communication across departments for continuous improvement.
  • Suggest and implement innovative solutions to optimize model construction and development processes.
  • Promote the highest standards of workmanship across all components and projects.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience within high-performance motorsport.
  • Expertise in model making, mechanical assemblies, and fine-tolerance engineering.
  • Proficiency in using digital measurement and scanning systems such as Leica or Creaform, including associated software.
  • A strong understanding of pressure tap checking and management.
  • The ability to interpret and manipulate CAD assemblies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to process and model improvements.
  • The ability to work efficiently under pressure, meeting strict deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a professional approach to teamwork.
  • A sound knowledge of health and safety practices in an engineering environment.
  • Flexibility to work weekends.
