Caribbean Opportunity for Chief Engineer

GAP Talent is recruiting a Chief Engineer to work in the Caribbean for a renowned hotel and resorts company.

The successful applicant will oversee the maintenance and management of the property's mechanical and physical assets, encompassing all engineering operations for interior and exterior facilities, including electrical, refrigeration, plumbing, heating and cooling, structural, ground care, and parking area facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implementing energy-efficient strategies for utility consumption.
• Managing annual operational budgets, capital expenditures, and utilities.
• Troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems.
• Developing and managing inventory for maintenance activities.
• Organising and directing engineering activities, including planning and controlling projects.
• Negotiating contracts with vendors and clients.
• Coordinating the engineering team and assigning project goals.
• Performing quality control checks on all systems and products.
• Cost calculation, material procurement, labor allocation, and time estimation for each project.
• Ensuring compliance with ethical and regulatory standards for hotel equipment and systems.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
• Minimum four years of management experience.
• Minimum five years' experience in the hospitality industry.
• Ability to draft, review, and evaluate engineering blueprints.
• Working knowledge of ASHRAE, JS21, NFPA, and NEC life safety codes and standards.
• CEM/CFM certification preferred.
• Experience with Chill Water Systems.
• Experience with waste water treatment and reverse osmosis water plants necessary.
• Proficiency in reading and understanding blueprints and schematics.
