Job Title:
Hydropower Engineer
The Hydropower Engineer will act as a working supervisor responsible for the operation, maintenance and lifecycle projects of a 25MW hydro scheme.
Main Responsibilities:- Lead, supervise and manage the daily activities of the onsite team.
- Play a key role in the planning and management of scheduled and unscheduled outages within the hydro project's annual maintenance schedule.
- Manage maintenance and lifecycle projects to ensure the long-term upkeep of the hydro scheme.
- Ensure all work is conducted in compliance with HSE regulations and company policies.
- Utilize CMMS and SCADA systems for monitoring and administration of work.
- Liaise with the offsite control centre for monitoring and operational purposes.
- Coordinate and manage specialist subcontractors for various maintenance and lifecycle tasks.
- Manage and participate in an on-call rota so as to be able to fulfill 24/7 response protocols.
- Report to the Site Manager and provide regular updates on project status and site conditions.
- SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification.
- Proven experience in mechanical maintenance and project management.
- HND, degree or equivalent beneficial.
- Strong knowledge of HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) regulations.
- Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong communication skills for effective liaison with offsite control centres and subcontractors.
Primarily site-based with ability to work from home and at GHR office in Evanton (Depot) and Perth (Fin & Admin).
Full-time position with potential for overtime during peak project periods.
