Learning and Development (L&D) is key to our strategy as an Audit Stream and critical to our success. It supports attracting, developing, and retaining talented people who take pride in their work and deliver successfully for our business.
Effective L&D requires specialist resources partnering with the Audit Stream to identify training needs and respond appropriately. Careful planning and project management are necessary, along with a critical-thinking and commercial mindset, and understanding of regulatory requirements.

The quality we deliver is underpinned by audits which are trusted and transparent, relied upon by companies and their stakeholders.
You'll be someone comfortable working proactively, managing your tasks, and confident collaborating with others and communicating regularly with Senior Managers, Directors, and BDO Partners.
In this role, you will:
- Review content written by the Learning Development team to maintain quality control and ensure learning objectives have been met.
- Support the Monitoring, Reporting & Compliance team to ensure evaluation metrics are in place and analyse reporting at a programme level.
- Develop and maintain relationships integral to programmatic design, such as content SMEs.
- Support delivery of programmes with onsite project management and/or facilitation support as appropriate.
- Design, curate, or create technical and non-technical content as part of the Learning Development team.
- Deliver content under the direction of the Learning Implementation team.
- Evaluate content under the direction of the Monitoring, Reporting & Compliance team.
- Support the wider L&D team with development, delivery, and evaluation activities.
- Support the Faculty team with briefing and training facilitators and hosts to equip them to deliver learning content.
- Leverage practising audit experience and detailed accounting and auditing knowledge to support relevant learning development.
- Facilitate programmes as needed alongside the Stream.
- Collaborate with the Innovation and Technology team to enable effective learning design leveraging innovation and technology.
- Collaborate effectively with Business Partnering and Learning Implementation teams to understand training needs and translate them into learning objectives and content.
- Cross-function collaboration and sharing best practice with wider people teams to ensure L&D activity is aligned.
- Bring the latest thinking and innovation to support high-quality learning solutions.
- Advocate change where needed, leading by example and seeking support as appropriate.
You'll be someone with:
- Experience as a Manager (or equivalent) in programme development, including non-technical and audit-technical course content.
- Experience authoring and reviewing programme content.
- Prior delivery experience beneficial but not essential; attendance at our Faculty Training Programme can be arranged.
- Interest in self and others' development through high-quality learning interventions.
- Understanding of the latest design thinking, innovation, tools, and technology for programme development.
- Strong relationship skills to work with varied stakeholders, influence agendas, problem solve, and drive forward activities.
- Teamworking and collaboration skills alongside coaching, developing, and inspiring people to reach their potential.
- Able to translate training needs into learning objectives and key outcomes and coordinate an appropriate response.
- Excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong data-analytics and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of business strategy and goals, focusing on delivering effectively against these.
- Focusing on excellence, quality, and outputs.
