This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team that plays a vital role in improving the service provided to our communities.
As a Criminal Justice Team Leader, you will be responsible for driving up Criminal Justice performance by working collaboratively with operational teams. You will lead and develop your team, including managing their welfare, workloads, and ongoing development.
The team is comprised of experts in Case Progression, ensuring that case files are progressed efficiently with quality as the prime focus. Every member of the team supports and serves the community we represent.
Main Responsibilities:- Supervise a team of staff within Criminal Justice, including responsibility for welfare, development, performance issues, and workload management.
- Manage risk, prioritize, problem-solve, and make decisions in a timely manner to contribute to the effective running of the department.
- Work collaboratively with force leads to develop, coordinate, and actively support improvements in those areas.
- Undertake preparation of performance reports, including statistical and qualitative data as required.
- Be responsible for all enquiries and complaints, progressing them to a satisfactory conclusion and liaising with third parties where required.
- Support the implementation of new local and national initiatives and change programs to ensure compliance and consistency across the team.
- Build effective working relationships and establish robust communication methods with internal and external stakeholders to improve service delivery to the public.
- Proactively provide knowledge-based guidance and direction to operational teams based on understanding of Criminal Justice processes.
- Ability to lead, supervise, and motivate a team, manage conflict, and challenge underperformance and behaviors.
- Effective decision-making skills, with the ability to remain objective, impartial, and professional, together with being able to manage demand, prioritize, and multi-task.
- Experience of working collaboratively with and influencing stakeholders.
- Understanding of Criminal Justice processes and procedures.
- Excellent IT skills, including the ability to use and update a wide range of computer systems.
- Excellent communication skills to build relationships with colleagues to influence, support, and challenge.
- Data Analysis skills to identify performance issues and themes and produce reports on this.
This role works a 10-day rolling shift pattern, consisting of 2 early shifts (7am-4pm), 2 late shifts (3pm-midnight), 2 mid-shifts (11am-8pm), followed by 4 rest days.
This is a blended role, allowing the successful candidate to work from home and at a secondary work location, which may include Keynsham, Patchway, Concorde, Bridgwater, or Bridewell. The expectation is to regularly attend a Police location for meetings.
Shortlisting will take place week commencing 10th March, with assessment and interview to be confirmed.
