Are you an experienced Material Handler looking for a new opportunity in Portland, Oregon? Our busy warehouse is seeking a reliable and skilled individual to manage the movement of materials within our facility. This role is critical to the smooth functioning of our logistics operations, ensuring that materials are moved efficiently and safely from receiving to storage, and to production or shipping areas. You will operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment to transport goods. This position requires a strong understanding of warehouse layouts and safety procedures. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers.
- Transport materials to and from designated warehouse locations.
- Receive and inspect incoming materials for damage and accuracy.
- Store materials in appropriate locations, ensuring proper organization.
- Prepare materials for shipment or production.
- Conduct daily pre-shift equipment inspections.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines, including the use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory counts and record-keeping.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Material Handler, including forklift operation certification.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects up to 70 pounds.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse safety procedures.
- Familiarity with various types of material handling equipment.
- Excellent spatial awareness and manual dexterity.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must wear all required PPE, including safety glasses, vest, and steel-toed boots.
