About
The person is responsible for delivering high-quality technical support while actively contributing to software development, testing, and system improvement. This role blends hands-on support with development responsibilities, providing an opportunity to work across the full lifecycle of software solutions.
The successful candidate will support customer systems while also developing, maintaining, and testing applications using modern Microsoft technologies. The role includes progressing from supporting tasks to taking ownership of development features and system improvements.
*Key Responsibilities*
* Provide first-line technical support, including issue triage, troubleshooting, and resolution.
* Develop, maintain, and enhance applications using the .NET stack
* Write and optimise SQL queries for data analysis and issue resolution
* Perform hardware diagnostics and fault analysis to identify and resolve technical issues
* Install, configure, and upgrade software systems as required.
* Conduct software testing to ensure functionality, stability, and performance prior to deployment.
* Write and maintain clear, accurate technical documentation, including user guides and internal procedures.
* Deliver internal training sessions to improve team knowledge of systems and processes
* Conduct technical site visits, including system installation, configuration, commissioning, and on-site troubleshooting.
* Collaborate closely with support and development teams to resolve complex issues.
*Key Skills & Competencies*
* Experience in a technical support or software engineering role
* Knowledge of the .NET stack
* Knowledge of T-SQL
* Strong problem-solving skills with a logical and methodical approach.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* High attention to detail and accuracy.
* Well organised, with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
* Able to work independently or as part of a team.
* Proactive mindset with a strong willingness and appetite to learn.
* Customer-focused approach with professionalism and reliability
*Qualifications & Experience*
* Degree or relevant qualification in Engineering, IT, Computer Science, or a related field *(or equivalent practical experience).*
* Previous experience in a technical support or development role.
* Experience in technical support, hardware diagnostics, or software testing preferred.
* Experience installing and upgrading software systems is desirable.
* Familiarity with technical documentation standards and practices.
* Willingness to travel for site visits when required.
