Join our team as a Material Handler in the bustling city of New York City, New York. We are looking for energetic and dependable individuals to support our warehouse operations. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving, storing, and retrieving materials within the warehouse. This role is critical to maintaining the flow of goods and ensuring that orders are processed accurately and on time. You will work closely with the warehouse team to manage inventory, load and unload trucks, and prepare materials for shipment. A strong commitment to Safety and the proper use of PPE is essential in this role. This is a great opportunity to be part of a growing logistics network.
Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
- Move materials within the warehouse using hand trucks, forklifts, or other equipment.
- Store materials in designated locations, ensuring proper organization.
- Pick and pack orders accurately and efficiently.
- Assist in counting inventory and performing cycle counts.
- Operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently, following all training guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area, adhering to safety standards.
- Report any damages or discrepancies to the supervisor immediately.
- Ensure all Lifting tasks are performed safely, using proper techniques.
- Wear appropriate PPE at all times as required by safety regulations.
- Support the logistics team in ensuring timely order fulfillment.
- Follow all company policies and procedures, especially those related to safety and material handling.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or material handling role is a plus.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including frequent Lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Knowledge of basic warehouse operations and inventory procedures.
- Familiarity with Safety guidelines and the importance of wearing PPE.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Team player with good communication skills.
- Basic understanding of logistics processes is beneficial.
