Join our rapidly growing logistics center in Austin, Texas, as a Receiving Clerk! We need a diligent and organized individual to manage the inbound flow of inventory accurately and efficiently. Your primary responsibilities will include unloading incoming trucks, meticulously verifying the contents of each shipment against documentation, and conducting thorough inspections for any damages or discrepancies. You will be responsible for accurately entering received data into our inventory system and preparing items for their designated storage locations. Proficiency in operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks safely is essential. Maintaining a safe, clean, and orderly receiving dock is a key part of this role. Safety is paramount, so strict adherence to all safety protocols and the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong organizational abilities, and the capacity for physical work, including lifting. Your precision in receiving directly contributes to the integrity of our inventory and the overall effectiveness of our logistics operations. Become a critical member of our warehouse team.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments promptly and carefully.
- Verify shipment details against relevant paperwork (POs, invoices).
- Inspect all received goods for damage or shortages.
- Enter accurate receiving data into the warehouse management system.
- Label and organize incoming inventory for storage.
- Operate material handling equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks, safely and proficiently.
- Ensure the receiving area is kept clean, organized, and hazard-free.
- Report any discrepancies, damages, or issues to management promptly.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of PPE.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED. Prior experience in a receiving or warehouse role is beneficial. Familiarity with inventory control procedures and warehouse management systems. Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Physical ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. Knowledge of safety best practices and a commitment to using PPE. Good organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively. Effective verbal and written communication skills.
