About
We are looking for a skilled Warehouse Technician to join our team in Des Moines, Iowa. This role is vital for maintaining the operational efficiency and Safety of our warehouse and logistics operations. As a Warehouse Technician, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance on warehouse equipment, troubleshooting minor equipment issues, and ensuring that all machinery operates at peak performance. Your expertise will directly impact our productivity and reduce downtime. A thorough understanding of Safety procedures, including the proper use of PPE and adherence to LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) procedures, is essential. You will also assist with general warehouse duties as needed, ensuring the smooth flow of goods.
Responsibilities:
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on forklifts, conveyors, palletizers, and other warehouse machinery.
- Diagnose and repair minor mechanical and electrical issues on equipment.
- Conduct regular Safety inspections of warehouse equipment and identify potential hazards.
- Ensure all equipment is operating efficiently and safely according to manufacturer specifications.
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and records.
- Assist with the installation and setup of new equipment.
- Adhere strictly to all company Safety policies and procedures, including the use of PPE and LOTO.
- Perform general warehouse duties such as organizing, Cleaning, and assisting with inventory as needed.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement in Safety and operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Warehouse Technician, Maintenance Mechanic, or similar role.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance techniques for industrial equipment.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and logistics is a plus.
- Ability to read technical manuals and schematics.
- Must be proficient in using hand and power tools.
- Understanding of Safety regulations and best practices in a warehouse environment.
- Ability to perform moderate physical tasks, including occasional Lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Willingness to wear all required PPE and follow Safety protocols diligently.
