We are seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to join our team in Columbus, Ohio. This role is critical for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory. You will be responsible for implementing and managing inventory control procedures, conducting regular audits, investigating discrepancies, and recommending improvements to optimize stock levels and minimize loss. This position requires a strong analytical mind and a thorough understanding of warehouse operations and logistics . Adherence to strict safety protocols and the correct use of PPE is essential. While primarily an analytical role, there may be occasions requiring moderate lifting and physical movement within the warehouse. The ideal candidate will be proficient in inventory management software and possess excellent problem-solving skills. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain inventory control procedures.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies promptly.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Manage stock rotation and ensure FIFO (First-In, First-Out) where applicable.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with procurement to ensure adequate stock.
- Oversee the receiving and put-away process to ensure accuracy.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Ensure compliance with all company safety regulations.
- Verify and enforce the correct usage of PPE .
- Assist with tasks requiring moderate lifting or physical checks in the warehouse.
- Support the overall logistics operations through accurate inventory management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in inventory control or warehouse management.
- Proficiency in WMS and other inventory management software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of logistics and supply chain best practices.
- Ability to perform tasks involving moderate lifting (up to 30 lbs).
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and proper PPE usage.
- Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
