About

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team for the night shift. This role offers a shift differential for evening hours.
As an LPN, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality nursing care in a recovery-focused environment. Responsibilities include direct patient care, medication administration, medical documentation, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team while ensuring compliance with all state and federal regulations.
The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, a commitment to ethical standards, and the ability to respond effectively in fast-paced or emergency situations.
Education & Licensure
* Graduate of an accredited nursing program (LPN or RN)
* Licensed to practice nursing in the state of West Virginia (LPN or RN) with current CPR certification
* Compliance with all state licensure requirements
Experience
* Minimum 1 year of experience in a chemical dependency, psychiatric, detox, or behavioral health setting preferred
* Experience in inpatient, partial hospitalization, or outpatient environments is highly desirable
Key Responsibilities
* Complete all required patient admission documentation within 24 hours, including assessments, testing, and consent forms
* Transcribe physician’s orders and implement medical protocols accurately
* Administer medications and monitor patient responses
* Assist and collaborate with physicians, psychiatrists, and therapists for patient care needs
* Facilitate medical education groups and patient teaching sessions as directed
* Respond promptly to medical emergencies and make appropriate referrals
* Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with licensure standards
* Educate patients about health issues, medications, and treatment plans under medical supervision
* Support utilization review needs by coordinating care with insurance carriers and case managers
* Schedule laboratory tests and coordinate outside medical services as needed
* Maintain strict patient confidentiality and adhere to professional ethical standards
* Stay current with training requirements, including CPR, First Aid, Infection Control, Crisis Intervention, and Fire Safety
* Demonstrate flexibility, teamwork, and professionalism in all duties
* Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by supervisors
Skills & Abilities
* Proficiency in communication, observation, and documentation skills
* Strong knowledge of state and federal statutes regarding patient confidentiality and patient rights
* Understanding of Drug-Free Workplace policies and Workplace Violence Prevention guidelines
* Familiarity with corporate integrity, ethics standards, and professional codes of conduct
* Knowledge of addictions and the 12-Step Recovery Program
* Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment
* Competency in problem-solving, stress management, ethics, and team building
* Knowledge of the effects of alcohol and addictive drugs on individuals and families
* Ability to recognize medical emergencies and respond appropriately
* Knowledge of emergency procedures, First Aid, and CPR
* Understanding of federal, state, and local regulations governing addiction treatment and patient care
* Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and assume additional responsibilities as needed
