Connectivity Engineer - Data Center Design and Construction

About
Develop and maintain project scopes, schedules, and milestones while collaborating with the site project management team throughout the project lifecycle.
Continual Improvement:
Review ongoing projects for efficiencies and document findings to support project management best practices, ensuring successful collaboration with cross-functional partners.
Forecasting:
Assist the project controls team in forecasting and budgeting efforts, while sharing project status with stakeholders to ensure seamless handoffs between teams.
Technical Reviews:
Track equipment purchase milestones and assist in contractor selection for structured cabling projects within the data center.
Reporting Metrics:
Communicate progress and risks related to site projects to key stakeholders.
Workflow Management:
Collaborate with installation partners, conduct planning and handoffs, and resolve project risks and high-priority issues effectively.
Vendor Management:
Oversee connectivity activities on site, ensuring progress is tracked against schedule expectations and fostering strong relationships with installation partners.
Quality Assurance:
Conduct physical inspections to ensure vendor work adheres to DEC quality standards and compliance throughout all project phases.
Technical Field Leadership:
Lead the evaluation of products and installation methods, clarifying scope and design details as needed.
Technical Coordination:
Develop solutions to field issues, partnering with design and engineering teams for support during design reviews and validations.
Communication:
Engage with construction partners to meet deliverables and coordinate logistics for a smooth material flow, proactively updating stakeholders on project progress and risks.
Safety Commitment:
Ensure vendors comply with safety regulations and DEC best practices, promoting a culture of safety and transparent communication.
Minimum Qualifications: 7+ years of experience in project management.
Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement and guidance.
Proficient in problem-solving related to construction issues.
Skilled in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and MS Project.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in reviewing and leading installations per design specifications.
Background in data center development or construction management.
Knowledge of Quality Assurance and Quality Control processes.
Experience leading network/structured cabling deployments.
Proficient in fiber optic testing and troubleshooting.
Experience with outside plant cabling deployments and testing.
Experience managing IT or IP network deployment projects in critical environments.
Familiarity with Primavera 6.
Compensation: $123,000/year to $176,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits. Industry:
