About the RoleThe Atlanta Journal-Constitution (AJC) is on an exciting journey to transform a storied, 156-year-old newspaper into the most essential and engaging digital news source for Atlanta, Georgia, and the South. As part of this mission, we are seeking a QA Engineer II to join our high-performing software engineering team.In this role, you will collaborate with developers, product managers, and designers within an Agile pod structure to ensure high-quality digital product releases across web and mobile platforms through automation. You'll play a critical part in building innovative media experiences that meet the highest standards for performance and usability.Key ResponsibilitiesBuild and maintain an automation framework that ensures reusability and scalability to improve test coverage and deployment speed. This framework should be layered with a modular structure, test data management, reusable function libraries, object repository, test execution and reporting toolsDevelop, execute, and maintain manual and automated test plans, test cases, and scripts for functional, regression, and exploratory testingCollaborate with developers to identify, log, and validate bugs and defect resolutionsParticipate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectivesAdvocate for quality assurance best practices and a culture of continuous improvementEnsure cross-browser and cross-platform compatibility through modern testing approachesProvide feedback and insight that helps shape the product from a user-centric perspectiveRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in a related field and 2+ years of relevant QA or software testing experience; alternatively, a master's degree with up to 2 years of experience, or 6 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degreeExperience testing B2C web and/or mobile applications in Agile development environmentsProficiency with QA tools such as Jira, TestRail, or ZephyrExperience with test automation frameworks such as Selenium, BrowserStack or CypressFamiliarity with API testing tools such as PostmanBasic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScriptStrong knowledge of modern testing standards and practicesDetail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills and organizational abilitiesExcellent collaboration and communication skillsProactive mindset with a passion for continuous learning and improvementWhy Join AJC?Be part of a mission-driven team reshaping the future of journalismWork in a dynamic environment where your work makes an impactCollaborate with talented professionals across disciplinesEnjoy flexible hybrid work arrangementsContribute to building meaningful, high-quality digital experiences for millionsUSD 65,500.00 - 98,300.00 per yearCompensation:Compensation includes a base salary of $65,500.00 - $98,300.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.Benefits:The Company offers eligible employees the flexibility to take as much vacation with pay as they deem consistent with their duties, the company's needs, and its obligations; seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year; and up to 160 hours of paid wellness annually for their own wellness or that of family members.
