We are seeking a Senior Backend Java Engineer to join our Core Platform team. This role focuses primarily on backend systems development not full-stack building scalable, enterprise-grade services in a modern cloud-native environment. The ideal candidate is deeply experienced in Java enterprise development, understands production systems at scale, actively participates in Agile ceremonies, and is comfortable working alongside DevOps and infrastructure teams. We value engineers who leverage modern AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot or similar) to enhance productivity while maintaining high standards for code quality, security, and system reliability. Core Technical Requirements
Strong expertise in Java 21 and Jakarta EE 10 Experience with WildFly 32 application server Proficiency in Maven multi-module project structures Strong experience with Hibernate ORM (JPA) and enterprise persistence patterns Experience with Apache Kafka (including Avro serialization) Strong working knowledge of Oracle Database REST API design and implementation using JAX-RS Experience working within large enterprise codebases (100K+ LOC) DevOps & CI/CD Experience
Docker containerization (multi-stage builds, optimization best practices) Jenkins pipeline development and CI/CD automation Kubernetes/container orchestration Infrastructure as Code (Helm, Terraform) Monitoring and logging systems (ELK stack, Prometheus, Grafana) Experience with New Relic or similar APM tools Strong understanding of system observability and production monitoring Qualifications Required: 7+ years of Java backend development experience 2+ years hands-on experience in CI/CD environments Experience working closely with DevOps teams Agile/Scrum experience: Sprint planning Daily standups Retrospectives Alignment with product and cross-functional teams Strong ownership mindset and accountability in delivering reliable systems Ability to operate effectively in large, aligned development organizations Preferred: Experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, AI code review assistants) responsibly to enhance productivity and code quality Proven track record of delivering reliable, production-ready backend systems Experience leading backend architectural decisions Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the major job responsibilities (essential functions) of this job.
