Tree Climber/Foreman

Job Description

Salary: $30-$35

Summary:

The Tree Service Laborer is responsible for a variety of job tasks (including physical labor) in order to assist with the completion of tree removals, trimmings, brush clearing, and stump grinding projects. Job responsibilities also include utilizing various hand tools, power tools, and equipment to carry out specified job duties.

Job Duties:

• Provides crew supervision and directs job site
• Trims and/or removes trees, branches, trunk sections
• Load and unload trucks and trailers
• Operate lift when applicable
• Feed wood chipper
• Responsible for roping down branches and logs
• Operating a chain saw
• Perform other manual duties to clean and maintain shop + equipment
• Operate, service, & conduct safety inspections of all required tools and equipment
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times
• Safeguards employees and public from hazards in and around work area.
• Assists training new employees.

Requirements:

• Experience roping down limbs (required)
• Ability to operate skid loaders and other equipment (preferred)
• Competent in the use of small engines (chain saws, pole saws, bag pack blowers, etc...)
• Valid drivers license
• Safety, customer and quality focused
• Physically fit with ability to work in various conditions including heat, humidity, rain, dust, noise, and cold
• Ability to follow safe working procedures
• Excellent observation skills and a strong attention to detail
• Ability to work both independently with little supervision, and as part of a team
• Effective communication and problem solving skills
