As part of our Engineering Team, our Senior DevOps Engineer drives some of the most cutting edge engineering projects Oishii has to offer.
We are developing advanced farm systems that leverage robotic harvesting, artificial intelligence, forecasting, and automation technologies to grow and harvest the world's best strawberries. We are studying every aspect of strawberry production and finding ways to beat the status quo.
As a Senior DevOps Engineer you will help build systems that support software development processes along with configuration, deployment, and monitoring for our fleet of harvesting robots. As a member of the software team, you'll work on tools to support best practices in software development, testing, release management, infrastructure management, and operations with space to grow into a variety of other critical roles.
What you'll be responsible for:
Build, support, and promote DevOps best practices for software development through integration of modern git based platforms and tooling You will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and sustaining all aspects of the software development tooling and infrastructure to support the software and machine learning teams. Configure, optimize and sustain software build and continuous integration pipelines Implement automated testing and deployment paradigms throughout the development, testing, and release lifecycle Work directly with the software team and machine learning team to ensure upstream code quality by automating processes and providing reliable infrastructure for testing. What we look for in a Senior DevOps Engineer:
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, or related field. 6+ years experience in a DevOps role leading critical infrastructure initiatives Strong Python and shell scripting. Other programming language skills a plus. Strong Linux and IT skills to help support issues Demonstrably strong with Docker and container management Extensive experience with git based development workflows, DevOps platforms (Gitlab is a plus), and CI infrastructure for C++ and Python projects An expertise with Ansible, container orchestration and task automation Exposure to DevOps for software deployed in application areas of industrial automation, autonomous vehicles, or robotics Experience with software development practices and tools (like Jira) Experience with scalability, monitoring, security and performance engineering for production-grade software with deployments at scale Experience with cloud platform infrastructure (ideally AWS) and understanding of networking concepts and services like subnets, DNS, DHCP, etc. Experience with relational and non-relational databases a plus (Postgres or MySQL) Experience with software observability technologies like Prometheus and Grafana is a plus Startup experience is a major plus! We have 2 locations in NJ; Jersey City & Philipsburg, NJ. This role may be remote or hybrid depending on the candidate location with the need to be onsite for critical deployments of on premise systems. Perks at Oishii:
