Description Leidos is seeking a dynamic and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Senior Network Design Engineer supporting NASA's National Security Systems (NSS) team. In this role, you will lead the way in mentoring junior network engineers and resolving complex network challenges. You will play a vital part in the management of our network infrastructure and the resolution of network-related issues, ensuring smooth operations for NASA and our clients. Your responsibilities will include providing immediate support for the operations team as well as compiling performance metrics and analyses that enhance our delivery to our clients. Join us at AEGIS where innovation knows no bounds! Primary Responsibilities Design, analyze, and maintain networks and related components to support data, voice, and video communications. Conduct configuration, preventative maintenance, and fault isolation of network equipment and telecommunications systems. Provide specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture to optimize both current and future organizational needs. Stay updated with technical expertise in network and computer hardware and software interfaces, such as routers, switches, firewalls, and more. Plan and implement enhancements and upgrades to the network infrastructure. Test network systems and devices to ensure optimal performance. Evaluate and report emerging network technologies to improve capabilities. Conduct equipment audits and generate detailed reports. Guide junior team members to help them achieve their objectives in alignment with corporate policies. Required Qualifications Expert knowledge of network infrastructure design and routed data protocols. Bachelor's degree and 8 - 12 years of relevant experience. Current Top Secret clearance is required for this position. In-depth understanding of technologies like DHCP, DNS, SSH, TCP, and UDP. Experience with WAN, LAN, data center routing, switching, and firewall management. Familiarity with Network Security technologies, including IPsec and SSL. Experience with Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), TelePresence Management Suite (TMS), and TelePresence Video Communication Server (VCS). Expertise in NSA Type I encryptors. Advanced understanding of security device architecture and management. Extensive knowledge of Cisco product lines and configuration of Cisco Firewalls. Proven track record in a similar network engineering role in a comparable IT environment. Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows, Cisco Systems, RHEL, and CentOS. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of DISA STIGS. Familiarity with Splunk. Understanding of Network Hardening techniques. TS/SCI Clearance is preferred. Desired Certifications / Training: CCNA. CCNP. Pay Range:
Pay Range $92,300.00 - $166,850.00 The Leidos pay range for this job level serves as a guideline and is not a guarantee of compensation.
