Warehouse Associate

Job Description

K&A Appliance has a great reputation in the community for service, products, customer experience & work environment. Having been experiencing rapid increase in inventory movement K&A Appliance has openings for full-time warehouse associates at their Greenfield & other facilities in Lancaster County.

Responsibilities include safely unloading/loading household appliances into/out of 53' trailers using a hand dolly, loading appliances into various vehicles for retail customers which involves lifting appliances with a co-worker, cleaning appliances, handling freight properly to avoid damage, operating 2-wheel hand dolly and pallet jack, help maintain a clean warehouses. Successful candidates must be able to perform heavy lifting, be legally able to drive a company vehicle (have a valid PA Driver's License), have an excellent attendance record and a high degree of accuracy. Prior appliance handling experience is a plus.

Requirements:

• Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, reach, grasp, bend and stack appliances for up to 10 hours at a time (minus scheduled breaks)
• Stand for long periods of time and walk continuously.
• Warehouse staff  may be required to lift up to 50 lbs on their own, lift more weight with assistance, and safely maneuver heavy appliances (including large refrigerators & ranges) on their own, using only a 2 wheel dolly.
• Must be available to work up to 50 hours a week, 7am - 5:30pm Monday through Friday, & occasional Saturdays
• Must have a valid & current Pennsylvania Driver's License .

Arrangements:

• Closed Sundays & 6 major holidays
• Working 40 to 50 hours per week, as needed
• Starting pay rate $16.00 to $17.00 per hour ($640 to $935 per week)
• Annual Reviews & possibly mid-term reviews
• Weekly payroll, direct deposited
• After 3 months, qualify for discounts off qualifying household appliances for employee & immediate family.
• After 3 months, qualify for paid time off (earned throughout the year) & holiday pay
• After 3 months, qualify to participate in company 401k plan, with a company match up to 5%
• (No Health Insurance is provided at this time)
