About
We are looking for a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our team in Madison, Wisconsin. In this role, you will be responsible for operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to move, locate, relocate, stack, and count merchandise. Your primary focus will be on the safe and efficient movement of goods within our warehouse, contributing directly to our Logistics operations. A strict adherence to Safety guidelines, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is essential. This position requires individuals who are comfortable with regular Lifting duties and can maintain a high level of operational awareness.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts and other powered industrial trucks to move, load, unload, stack, and stage products.
- Perform pre-operation inspections on forklifts to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Transport materials from receiving areas to storage, or from storage to shipping docks.
- Load and unload trucks efficiently and accurately.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and stock rotation.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring aisles and pathways are clear.
- Adhere to all Safety regulations and company policies, including wearing required PPE.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns immediately to supervisors.
- Work collaboratively with other warehouse staff to ensure smooth Logistics flow.
- Perform tasks involving Lifting and moving of materials as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid forklift operator certification or proven experience.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience operating forklifts in a warehouse environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of forklift operation and Safety procedures.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including occasional Lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Strong understanding of warehouse Safety protocols and the importance of PPE.
- Familiarity with Logistics and inventory control principles.
- Good hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
